As these amounts cannot be measured directly, Brighter Planet uses indirect measurements. These estimates are as close as possible to the actual amount, but their exactness cannot be guaranteed. ¹ Earn EarthSmart™ points based on the purchase transactions made with your Brighter Planet™ Visa® credit card account by you and your authorized user(s). Earn 1 point per dollar of new net retail purchase transactions (qualifying purchases less credits, returns, and adjustments) charged to the card each month (these are your "base points"). Point earnings are rounded to the nearest whole point. Balance transfers, cash advances, including purchases of money orders or other cash equivalents, out-of-network payments made through the Bill Pay Choice™ service, purchases made by or for a business or for a business purpose, fees, finance charges and unauthorized/fraudulent transactions do not earn points. Your credit card periodic billing cycle statement sent to you by Bank of America will report the number of points earned during each billing cycle. Points will automatically be redeemed at the end of each billing cycle to help fund new renewable energy projects across the United States that are expected to offset a certain amount of carbon emissions on your behalf. Each 1,000 points redeemed will purchase an estimated one (1) ton of carbon offsets. Brighter Planet will post the estimated carbon offsets to your Brighter Planet account on www.brighterplanet.com by the 15th day after the end of the month. Should the cost of carbon offsets increase, Bank of America reserves the right to amend or change the value of rewards earnings or the estimated amount of carbon offsets purchased with points. Points earned with the card are not negotiable, have no cash or monetary value and may not be used to pay off or pay down any credit card balance. There is no yearly limit to the amount of points that can be earned. Further details appear in the Brighter Planet credit card Program Rules document accompanying your credit card. The terms of this program are subject to change and are void where prohibited by law.

² You will earn an additional 0.50 points per dollar (in addition to base points earned) based on new net retail purchases (purchases less credits, returns and adjustments) charged to your Brighter Planet credit card each billing cycle through December 31, 2008.

Visit www.bankofamerica.com, enroll in Online Banking, and follow the directions on the customer service page. These bonus points will appear on your statement within 45 days after your account cycles and may only be earned one time per customer. Once you go paperless, you will stop receiving your statement in the mail. Instead, every month Bank of America will send you an email notifying you that your statement is online for viewing and printing. We provide up to 18 months of statements online.
